The LGfL Weather Monitoring System offers publicly-accessible, live data from weather stations around the United Kingdom. Access is provided free for non-commercial usage, and has been funded predominantly by Local Authorities and educational establishments.

To gain access to the historic data section of the web site, you will need a USO (Unified Sign-On) username and password. If you do not have a USO account, then you can obtain one in any of the following ways:

  1. If you are member of staff at a school connected to the London Grid for Learning, ask your IT Manager to issue your USO username and password. Your school's connection to LGfL makes you automatically eligible for an account.
  2. If your establishment has purchased services from Atomwide, either directly or via your Local Authority, then it is likely that you already have a USO account (although it may be known by a different name that refers to your Local Authority's network services). Ask your IT Manager for your USO username and password and use these credentials to access the data archive.
  3. If your establishment purchases a networked weather station from LGfL or Atomwide, and contributes to the project by feeding the resulting data into the LGfL Weather Monitoring System, then your establishment's representative can obtain a USO username and password for use with this web site at the time of purchase of the weather station. This account will operate for as long as the weather station continues to contribute data to the system. This account will be for personal use and must not be shared with other people, but accounts for further members of staff at the establishment are available on request, up to a maximum of five in total.

If you would like to know more about purchasing a networked weather station and becoming an active participant in this project, please contact sales@atomwide.com.
